For most of my life the idea of public speaking terrified me, until one day Dad flippantly remarked, ‘You can get away with a lot when you have silver hair.’ And as you can see, I'm silver haired.
It made me think that if I had something worth saying and I made a mistake, would that be life-threatening? Of course not!
My employer one day handballed a speaking opportunity to me - so began my speaking career.
We had a wonderful time with 80 people listening to my inaugural speech. They were an attentive and encouraging group, who instilled in me a liking for public speaking.
As author of, ‘What we’re Wheelie like’ and 'Unscrambling Grief' and '5 Easy ways to Solve the Aged Care Puzzle' the only way to market the books is to speak about why I wrote them.
I encourage audiences to follow their passions, to make good choices about what life throws at them and to think about what they allow into their minds and the impact that may have.
Interspersed with speaking to groups, I love doing radio interviews.
And new on the horizon in late 2018, I will be launching a Workplace Wellbeing Workshop.
Let me enthuse your group or your workplace by looking at what we can do and focusing on the part our mind plays in achieving our objectives.
